The 2011 Dodge Ram: A Year in Review

The new 2011 Dodge Ram was improved from earlier years to better meet the demands and needs of consumers. It was made available in "Regular Cab, Quad cab (a long extended cab with forward-hinged doors), and full four-door Crew Cab versions."

Along with the different versions of the new model, the 2011 Dodge Ram offers a choice of three engines: "A 3.7 liter V6 rated at 215 horsepower, a 310 hp 4.7 liter V8, and the 390 hp 5.7 liter Hemi." The V6 model is available with a four speed transmission while the V8 models are available in a five speed transmission.

Even though the 2011 Ram still carries a similar look on the outside early established by Dodge, it is also full of interesting features on the inside that differentiates this new model from its main competitors "The Ram is an American full size pickup truck, but it is different in several ways from its primary competitors, the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500." (Dodge)

The lineup of 2011 Dodge Ram gets some minor changes from earlier versions: "A new Ram Outdoorsman replaces the previous TRX model. Repackaging has made some 2011 Ram models less expensive, other more expensive." (Dodge) But there are also more changes made to the new model: "Other changes for 2011 include power folding mirrors (taken from the Ram Heavy Duty), a factory spray in bedliner, Garmin navigation, and an active on demand transfer case for 4WD models." (Dodge)

Additionally, the 2011 Ram comes in ST, SLT, Outdoorsman, Sport, and Laramie trim levels. But there are other special edition models, like the Big Horn and Lone Star. There are also different options to choose from when it comes down to cabin size. These options are the Regular Cab with short bed (6.3 feet) or long bed (8 feet), the four door Quad Cab with short bed, and the Crew Cab with a short bed.
