Kia makes its first entry into the full-size luxury sedan segment with the 2015 Kia K900. If you question Kia's place in the luxury market the Kia K900 was designed to win you over. With pricing expected to start around $50,000 and a treasure trove of premium standard features, the Kia K900 embodies the concept of affordable luxury.

The K900's elegant exterior styling is the most sophisticated version of a design that Kia has refined on other models. The long 119.9-inch wheelbase, short overhangs, and a sweeping roofline, give the Kia K900 an athletic bearing and confident stance on the road.

Kia K900 offers two engine options, each features direct fuel injection and variable valve timing. The 3.8-liter Lambda V6 creates 311 horsepower while the optional 5.0-liter Tau V8 generates 420 horses. Both are backed by an 8-speed automatic transmission with unique ratio sets and driver-selectable Eco/Normal/Sport settings.

In keeping with Kia's goal of providing comfort and refinement in every detail, every Kia K900 has an impressive list of standard features that can be further augmented with various package upgrades. Even the Kia K900 base model boasts leather upholstery, a 17-speaker/900-watt Lexicon audiophile sound system, a center 9.2-inch multifunction screen accessed through the console-mounted Driver Information System controller, voice-command navigation, UVO eServices telematics, HD Radio, Bluetooth, a power-operated trunk lid and front/rear park assist.

The Kia K900 delivers a ride filled with stately and serene comfort.  This is thanks to the combination of 5-link fully independent front and rear suspension, the use of high-tensile steel, plenty of sound-deadening efforts, laminated front and side window glass and staggered tires.

The interior of the Kia K900 is extremely accommodating to both front- and rear-seat passengers. Luscious Nappa leather and genuine walnut or poplar wood trim are spread lavishly around the interior, the 16-way power-adjusted driver's seat that is both heated and ventilated. The cabin is lit with "soft-hue" LEDs.

Controls on the fold-down center armrest, allow rear-seat passengers to control their environment by adjusting cabin temperature and adjusting heating in their seats. In the VIP versions the rear seats also independently recline and feature power lumbar support.  All V8 models are equipped with a mammoth panoramic sunroof with retractable sunshade.

Do you take a pragmatic approach to luxury? Are you willing to look at new and upcoming brands? If so you will be richly rewarded by the Kia K900. It is a luxurious automobile packed with premium features for a modest price for its class.
