Just got our new to us 23 Kira Niro Wave. It looks great, is comfortable, has great sound. There is going to be a learning curve, but we are so excited about it. Drove it home from the dealership with no problems and a wonderful driving experience.
    • Surprisingly great car

Was not intentionally trying to buy the EV version of the Niro, but definitely loving it. I’ve had no glaring issues other than not reading the manual and discovering so many great features. 2 years of ownership and still finding new things out that enhance my enjoyment of this vehicle. Only disappointed with how much the value has dropped since acquiring this vehicle.
    • Range not as advertised

While I love my new 2024 Kia Niro EV, the reason for the two star deduction is that: 1. The range for a full charge is not nearly the range that was advertised (showed I could drive from LA to San Francisco on one full charge, but ended up having to stop three times to charge) And 2. Everyone talks about “lightning fast” chargers, but no one talked about how the car needs to intake the charge “lightning fast” as well, which the Niro EV does NOT do! And let’s not forget the massive lines waiting for chargers close to the interstate. You have to add about an hour to the already two hours it takes to charge if you’re going anywhere long distance. Oh! And 3. A huge selling point for me was the remote climate start and locking/unlocking via the app—but no one told us you have to pay a large subscription fee monthly for the app after the year they give you for free (we were told the service is provided, but not told we’d have to pay after a year)! I love the roominess and the smooth ride. Apple play is great. But I do have some buyers remorse because I think I could have gotten those same great features with a hybrid in the same price point. And I did a ton of research on EVs and this one in particular before I bought it.
